Call for CIGR Award Candidates 2012

Every two years CIGR awards people who have made valuable contributions to development of CIGR. The next recognitions will be given at the next CIGR International Conference to be held in cooperation with EurAgEng in Valencia, Spain 8-12 June 2012.

In accordance with the document: CIGR Awards and Prizes of 2009, the CIGR awards fall within the following categories:

Awards:

  1. CIGR Merit Award: Candidates are nominated by Technical Section Boards and the CIGR Award and Prize Committee. The award is given to persons who have contributed to the successful work of CIGR and to further its mission.
  2. CIGR Honor Award: Candidates are CIGR ex-officers, presented by the CIGR Presidium.
  3. CIGR Fellow Award: Candidates are nominated by Technical Section Boards. The title of CIGR Fellow is assigned to individuals who have made outstanding contributions.
  4. CIGR Recognition (Presidential Citation): Candidates are e.g. individuals who contribute with outstanding papers at a CIGR activity.
  5. CIGR National/Regional Awards: National and regional societies may present awards to their members during the CIGR Award ceremony.

Prizes:

  1. CIGR Armand Blanc Prize: Candidates are young researchers. The Prizes are given to increase their motivation for working with CIGR activities.
  2. CIGR Journal Prize: Candidates are selected by the CIGR Journal Editor in cooperation with the seven CIGR Section editors.
  3. Industrial awards and prizes in agreement with actual sponsors.

By this announcement we encourage you to send us your proposals for gratuity recipients before September 1 2011.
