2nd IFAC/CIGR International Workshop on Bio-Robotics, Information Technology and Intelligent Control for Bioproduction Systems
This event will be held on 25-26 November, 2000 in Osaka, Japan. The workshop aims at providing a forum for presenting new approaches and results on bioproduction robots including many kinds of automated or autonomous machine systems with or without manipulators, information-oriented technology to deal with variability, and technology intelligence for bioproduction systems.

XIV Memorial CIGR World Congress 2000
The XIV CIGR World Congress will be held on 28 November - 1 December 2000 at the University of Tsukuba, Tsukuba, Japan. This Congress is sponsored by CIGR and the Science Council of Japan and organised by the Japan Association of the International Commission of Agricultural Engineering and the University of Tsukuba in co-operation with AAAE, ALIA, ASAE, EurAgEng and SEASAE. 4th IFAC/CIGR International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture AIA 2001
The meeting will take place from 6-8 June 2001 in Budapest, Hungary. It is organised by the Department of Physics and Process Control, Gödöllö University of Agricultural Sciences, and by the Process Control Research Group of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences – GUAS. It is supported by CIGR, the International Federation of Automatic Control, TC on Modelling and Control in Agricultural Processes, TC on Intelligent Control in Agricultural Automation, Gödöllö University of Agricultural Sciences and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. CIGR Section II Symposium on
"Animal Welfare Considerations in Livestock Housing Systems"
The meeting will take place from 22-24 October 2001 at the Technical University of Zielona Góra, Poland. It is supported by CIGR Section II, the Polish Committee of Agricultural Engineering, the Agricultural University of Wroclaw, and the Technical University of Zielona Góra. The symposium language will be English, and the main topics of the symposium will be:
* Farm animal welfare: the contemporary context
* Testing methodologies, techniques and equipment
* Influence of housing systems on animal health
* Influence of housing systems and stockperson attitude on animal welfare
* Environmental effects on animal stress, behavior and productivity.

Call for papers
Short (max 300 words) abstracts for paper or poster presentations should be sent by mail, fax or e-mail to the Symposium Secretariat by November 15, 2000. The program committee will review the abstracts and notify authors of acceptance by March 1, 2001.
