5th International Conference on

Construction, Technology and Environment in

Livestock Farming 2001

This Conference will take place at Hohenheim University, Hohenheim, Germany, on 6-7 March 2001. Since its first carrying out in 1993, this conference has developed into probably the most important scientific meeting in this subject area in Europe. Among the subject areas construction, technology, and environment, the topics in 2001 will focus on "Precision Livestock Farming" and "Emissions from Livestock Production." Lectures and posters are expected on the following subjects:

* Future-oriented Animal Housing Systems and their Evaluation

* Environmental Protection and Technology in Livestock Farming

* Current Legislation and its Effects

* Agricultural Construction and Production Sites

* Labour in Livestock Farming

* Energy

* Product Development, Marketing, Services

Abstracts have to be submitted until 31 May 2000. Download the announcement and call for papers at http://www.uni-hohenheim.de/~www440/tagung.html.

6th International ATW-Symposium "Plant Protection for Wine and Fruit Cultivation"

The Symposium, which is co-sponsored by CIGR and which will be one of the supporting acts during INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA 2001, will take place from 15-16 May, 2001. The development of new application techniques in fruit and wine cultivation on the one hand and a world-wide growing interest in environmental protection on the other are the reasons why the German Committee for Winegrowing Technique (ATW) wishes to rediscuss and review the results of the Symposium on plant protection of 1989. Since aspects and methods of plant protection for winegrowing and fruit cultivation are very similar, the 6th ATW_Symposium aims at bringing into focus both sectors.

For further information please contact:

Chairman of the ATW-Symposium: Prof. Dr. Werner Rühling, FG Technique of FA Geisenheim, D-65366 Geisenheim; +49(0)6722/502-361; Fax: +49(0)6722/502-360; email: technik@geisenheim.fa.fh-wiesbaden.de
