59th VDI-MEG International Agricultural Engineering Conference
The conference will be held from 9-10 November 2001 in Hanover, Germany. It is organised by the VDI-Max-Eyth-Society of Agricultural Engineering, and it is immediately followed by the exhibition "Agritechnika 2001". The attendees from abroad can get a combined participation ticket for the meeting of VDI "Agrartechnik" and the biannual exhibition "Agritechnika". The languages will be English and German, with sessions in either language being offered at the same time so that non-German speakers may fully participate in the Conference. Main topics will include:

XXX International Symposium
"Actual Tasks on Agricultural Engineering"
The Symposium will be held in Opatija, Croatia, from 12 - 15 March 2002. It is organised by the Agricultural Engineering Department, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Zagreb, Croatia, the Faculty of Agronomy, University of Osijek, Croatia, the Faculty of Agronomy, University of Maribor, Slovenia, the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia, Slovenia, the Croatian Agricultural Engineering Society, the Croatian Society of Agronomists, and the Croatian Agricultural Extension Institute. As co-sponsors appear CIGR, EurAgEng, and AAAE. The official languages of the symposium will be English and Croatian. Main topics will include:

IV. International Symposium on Concrete for a Sustainable Agriculture-Agro-, Aqua-, and Community-Applications
The symposium will be held from 21-24 April 2002 in Ghent, Belgium. It is organised, among others, by the Department of Mechanisation, Labour, Buildings, Animal Welfare and Environmental Protection - Agribeton, Merelbeke, and the Magnel Laboratory for Concrete Research, Ghent University. The language will be English. Topics will include:
- innovative concrete structures for agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry
- durability and quality aspects of concrete in agriculture
- concrete in relation to general animal welfare and energy savings
- concrete for water management and environmental protection

AUS AgEng 2002 - International Conference on Agricultural Engineering: "Does Australia still Need Agricultural Engineers?"
The Society for Engineering in Agriculture (SEAg) of Australia will hold its next biennial conference from September 26-29 2002 at Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, NSW, Australia. The conference language will be English. The conference will immediately follow one of Australia's largest agricultural machinery field days (The Henty Machinery Field Days) and will include a visit to the field days for early registrants who arrive on the Thursday. Topics will be broad ranging in the Ag Eng fields and will include a debate on the need or otherwise for Australia to maintain training and jobs for Agricultural Engineers. A call for papers is now on. Proposals are invited and up to 300 word abstracts will be accepted up till 31st January 2002. Final electronic copy of chosen papers will be due 30th May 2002.

The congress will be held on 15-17 October, 2002 in Kusadasi, Turkey. It is organized by the Department of Agricultural Machinery of the Faculty of Agriculture of Ege University in Izmir, Turkey. The congress co-sponsors are CIGR, the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK), the Turkish Association of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers (TARMAKBIR). Topics include:
