CIGR Section II Symposium on
"Gaseous and Odour Emissions from Animal Production Facilities" in Horsens
This symposium, organised in co-operation with EurAgEng and NJF, will be held from 1 to 4 June, 2003, at Scandic Hotel Bygholm Park, Horsens, Denmark. It will focus on the environmental effect of animal production. One of the major concerns is the ammonia emission from animal husbandry, with respect to acidification and eutrophication of the environment. Moreover, the odour nuisance to local residents and the emission of greenhouse gases and dust are becoming increasingly important issues with respect to animal husbandry.
The following topics will be discussed at the symposium:
- Effects of polluting emissions to humans and animals (indoor, outdoor), the environment and the legislation
- Measurement technology (hardware, protocols, strategies) for gaseous emissions
- Data on emissions from different production systems
- Techniques and strategies for emission reduction
- Modelling gas concentrations and emissions
- Economic assessment/evaluation
