Research Scientist-Engineering
Applications are invited for the position of Research Scientist - Engineering at the Prairie Swine Centre, a non-profit corporation affiliated with the University of Saskatchewan,
Canada. Active in research, education and technology transfer, the Centre operates Canada's largest swine production research facility. The engineering research program is part of a broader research program which also includes nutrition and applied ethology.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop a research program in two or more of the following areas:
ventilation systems, animal x environment interactions, air and/or water quality, waste management and energy conservation. Applicants will be expected to participate in graduate training programs, including supervision of graduate students and post doctoral fellows.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in agricultural engineering or related discipline, provide evidence of an ability to plan, direct and fund an independent research program, have strong organizational, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and be able to excel in a team-oriented environment. The position may be filled at either junior or senior level and therefore will be of interest to experienced senior scientists as well as new graduates.
Excellent collaborative opportunities exist with faculty in the Colleges of Engineering, Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan.
