Irrigation Systems Handbook
This book by N.A. Orcullo, Jr. Ph. D., Agricultural Engineer, contains 462 pages and discusses the principles, theories, design considerations and applications of irrigation
technologies within the context of a developing country like the Philippines. The book contains both technical and non-technical aspects affecting irrigation technologies thus the user will have a full grasp of irrigation systems and projects including financial/economic as well as legal aspects. The book also contains sample applications on the formulas used as well as actual case scenarios for non-technical aspects of irrigation projects. The book is localised in approach and contents thus it should be valuable to academicians and researchers as a reference textbook. It is also valuable for practising Agricultural Engineers as well as individuals and
planners involved in irrigation project planning and development.
The technical aspects discussed from Chapter 1 to Chapter 17 addresses theories and design considerations - the real challenge to Agricultural Engineers. Non-technical aspects are discussed in Chapter 18 to Chapter 21. While the technical aspects discuss the purely agro-engineering technical aspects of irrigation technology the non-technical aspects address the other aspects required in the decision-making process involved in irrigation projects.
The book (First Edition) is available through mail order at the price of 40 USD (postage and handling included) .
