Candidate is distinguished for clarifying water consumption mechanism in micro-irrigation crop field where partial wet spots and crop shadows are developed on soil surface. First, crop architectural model for all grow stages are developed to calculate the energy balance in canopy. Second, advection effect was taking into account to quantifying the evaporation on soil surface where spatially different energy balances exist. Third, three dimensional water and heat transfer model in soli was developed considering root develop condition in each grow stage. The accomplishments are effectively applied for saving irrigation water to both open crop field and crop in greenhouse. Outstanding accomplishments are published in many papers such as Soil Science, ICID Journal, Paddy and Water Environment, J.Agric. Meteorol., Trans. of JSIDRE(Japanese) and so on.
